What is an online study room?
An online study room—also called a virtual study room or focus room—is a shared space where people in different places can work quietly or communicate in the same digital environment. Think of it as the online equivalent of a desk in a physical library: everyone continues with their own task while the room's study rhythm can reduce isolation and make it easier to stay with a session.
Public rooms let you study with strangers who are following their own goals, while private rooms give friends or classmates a familiar place to focus. You choose the access model that fits your routine without turning the session into a performance contest.
Every Odakoo room is organized around a Pomodoro workflow. Participants can see the room's study status, use a timer that fits a shared or individual rhythm, and reach supporting tools from the same screen. The room is designed to help work begin and continue rather than behave like a general social feed.
The body-doubling approach: Knowing that other people are working can provide gentle external structure, especially when starting feels difficult. It is not a performance contest; it is the quiet sense of company created by working at the same time.

Choose the right door
Not every room uses the same access model.
Room visibility and permission to enter are separate. Seeing a room in a list does not mean anyone can enter without meeting its conditions.
Public room
It can appear on the discovery screen, and signed-in users who meet the current participation rules can join.
Password room
The room may be visible, but joining requires the valid password set by its owner. Password verification stays in the application's secure flow.
Private room
Access is limited by room settings and invitation rules. Visitors without permission are not admitted to room content.
This marketing page fetches no room data. It does not display active-room counts, usernames, profile details or private-room information. Real-time data is processed only inside the application's authorized flow.

Does it cost money to join an online study room?
You can explore public rooms and use room features included in Odakoo's free access. Some additional features or limits may vary by account plan; current conditions are shown inside the application.
Do I need an account to enter a room?
The room-discovery screen is public. Joining a room or creating a new one requires sign-in so participant identity, room permissions and abuse controls can be applied correctly.
Can anyone enter password-protected or private rooms?
No. Password rooms require the correct password, while private rooms require the relevant access or invitation conditions. Being signed in does not bypass either check.
Does everyone in a room use the same Pomodoro duration?
That depends on the room owner's timer-synchronization setting. When synchronization is on, participants can follow a shared rhythm; when it is off, they can continue with their own focus flow.
Is a camera required in a study room?
No. The core study-room experience is built around the timer, participant status, chat and focus tools. Browser permissions are not granted without the user's approval.
What happens if my connection drops?
The application monitors connection state and attempts to synchronize room state again when possible. After a longer interruption, you may need to refresh and rejoin; access checks are applied again.
What's the difference between a public room and a private room?
Public rooms are listed on the room-discovery screen and anyone can join. Private rooms can only be entered with an invitation link or password and don't appear in discovery.
How do I create my own study room?
After signing in, use 'Create Room' to set up your own room in seconds — choose settings like a password, category, and synchronized timer to match how you want to study.
What can a room owner (moderator) do?
A room owner can invite participants, remove people from the room, assign moderators, and manage room settings like timer synchronization. These permissions only apply within that specific room.
